Our Story
Welcome to Kilima Retreats, a family-owned and operated business nestled in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Understanding the origins of Kilima Retreats means embracing our family's journey.
Born and raised in South Africa, our family treasured holidays filled with exploration of the South African bush, absorbing its wonders. As we entered the new millennium, we were given the remarkable chance to move overseas, embarking on a transformative adventure that took us to Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and New Zealand. Our travels led us to breathtaking jungles, serene beaches, and vibrant cities, yet the call of the bush always pulled us home.
In 2017, we chose to establish new roots in the U.K., the land of our grandparents. It took time and effort to settle and discover our perfect haven, journeying across the country in search of our dream home. By 2019, we found our forever sanctuary. Captivated by the stunning views, serene landscapes, and the enchanting night sky, we felt inspired to share this space with others, a constant homage to our South African heritage.
